The Gal Behind the Lens
[me + my crew above]

I am the owner + operator and lead photographer of this one-gal-band of mine!
I'm a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. I always thought growing up with a beach at your disposal, wild ponies swimming across the channel every July, and the ripe smell of oyster beds at low tide was just normal for everyone. It wasn't until I went away to college that I learned just how unique our tiny dot on the map really is. Funny thing is, I left for about 10 years thinking I may never come back, but there's something about this place that'll call you back home if you listen close enough.
I am a wife, a mama, and a child of God. I'm married to the most easy-going human in the world. I don't think I could have asked for a more supportive partner in life, and I don't take that for granted. [He's also the guy holding the fort down when I'm out with you for your session, so we reeeeeally appreciate him around here!] We are constantly on the go with our kids, but if I'm being honest, I thrive on it. You'll be sure to catch us at the bowling alley, a baseball field, or the beach depending on the time of the year!
I am also a full time acute care nurse practitioner! I began my NP career in cardiothoracic surgery ICU in Philadelphia before moving back home to the Shore in 2015. I have been with our Internal Medicine service for over a decade now! Prior to this, I was an ER nurse for several years. I am both an East Carolina and a Duke graduate. Don't worry, if you're a Carolina fan, we can still be friends! I truly love what I do and have found it to be such a rewarding career.
Photography, though, is where lies my passion. This has been such an incredible creative outlet for me. There is SO much beauty in the mundane and being able to take something from ordinary to extraordinary is just . . chef's kiss.
It's all about how you see yourself in that frozen moment. I see how my mamas who are rarely in front of the camera truly light up when they see that one candid shot that just captured everything for them. It's catching that look in the grandparents' eyes and clicking "pause" for them to relive that youthful moment all those years ago. It's the multi-generational photo that you'll hold onto so dearly because you have no idea when you'll be able to coordinate another one or even who might still be in it the next time. It's seeing the hope and promise of such an incredible future ahead for the high school senior. It's looking back on the image of you in that stunning wedding gown, the one you'd always dreamed of since you were a little girl.
I love connecting with people. I love learning what makes you tick, what motivates you. Every one of us has a story that deserves to be told. Allow me to help you tell it! We have so much to learn from each other, and I am totally here for it.
